I have absolutely no idea why this question even came to me but I felt compelled to find an answer, it wasn't hard. But interesting nonetheless.
On April 14th 1865 Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in the Ford's Theatre, New York. The play he was seeing was Our American Cousin by Tom Taylor.
